ARLINGTON WINS 2000 READERS' CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- On Monday, July 3, the annual Fourth of July fireworks at Arlington International Racecourse returned with an impressive bang. The track's longest and most intricate fireworks to date, observed by an estimated crowd of over 80,000, has been selected as the winner of the 2000 Readers' Choice Award for Best Fireworks in the Daily Herald's Best of Cook County poll.
"Arlington's fireworks is a way for us to give back to the community," said Scott Mordell, Arlington Chief Executive Officer. "It's a way to say thank you to all those who support our efforts to be the best and most unique racetrack in the world and a premier entertainment venue in Chicagoland."
The annual edition of the Best of Cook County selections will be published on August 31, 2000. The Readers' Choice Awards are presented annually to "A leader in outstanding service and quality as selected by Daily Herald Readers."
