ARLINGTON LAUNCHES APMILLION.COM, DEFINITIVE WEB SITE FOR PRE- AND POST-RACE COVERAGE OF WEEKEND'S THREE G1 RACES

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Arlington International Racecourse today announced the launch of a special event Web site at www.apmillion.com that will provide up to date news and handicapping information on the Arlington Million, the Beverly D and the Secretariat Stakes, three Grade 1 races that will be held Aug. 19 at the suburban Chicago track.

"This Web site emphasizes handicapping analysis and racing news and information," said Scott Mordell, chief executive officer of Arlington. "It's customer focused and should appeal to handicappers, horsemen and thoroughbred racing fans throughout the world who are interested in developments surrounding the stellar international fields we will assemble on Saturday. It's also an example of the tremendous spirit of cooperation that has quickly developed between the staffs at Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) and Arlington and we believe already is benefiting our core patrons."

Content for www.apmillion.com, which will be updated several times a day, will be developed on-site by the CDI Web team in conjunction with the communications staff at Arlington International Racecourse.

AP MILLION.COM DIRECTORY

View the Contenders. The cornerstone of the Web site, this section features biographical information and analysis of each contender in the three Grade 1 races. Handicapping experts John Gaver III and Steve Fugitte consult with the Arlington staff to provide in-depth and timely reports.

News. The communications staff at Arlington covers the breaking news and feature angles of events surrounding the International Festival of Racing and the contenders as they prepare for Saturday's big races.

Photo Gallery. Expert thoroughbred racing photographers from Bob Benoit and Associates provide action and feature photos of the participants, both equine and human, in the days leading up to Saturday's races.

The three Grade 1 turf races that will be featured at www.apmillion.com are cornerstones of Arlington's International Festival of Racing. The Festival features over $3 million in purse money and historically has drawn many of the best thoroughbreds in training from North America and abroad. The Arlington Million made its debut in 1981 as the world's first million-dollar race and now carries a $2 million purse.

The Arlington Million and Beverly D. can be seen live on ESPN television Saturday in a 90-minute telecast from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Central Time.
